Pronoun and gender indentity: Acknowlege them by their preferred pronoun and gender identity, using the language by which they would also describe themselves.

Listen and Learn: Listen to their personal experiences and how they conduct themselves without making any judgment. Keep educating ourselves about LGBTiQA issues and terminology.

Respect Privacy: Maintain privacy by protecting data about their sexual orientation or gender identity at all times and never divulge their information without their consent and on their own terms.

Avoid Making Assumptions: Do not use stereotypes to make assumptions about someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity based. Allow clients to define themselves as they wish.

Do Not Discriminate: Support policies and practices to promote inclusion and diversity for our LGBTiQA clients.

Respect Boundaries: Respect client boundaries by building trust only through dialogue that they feel comfortable with. Avoid questions that make them feel awkward.

Be an Ally: Show solidarity, support and a better understanding for the LGBT community by attending relevant events and becoming a proactive campaigner to promote their rights.

Challenge Stereotypes: Do not stereotype clients, creating possible misconceptions about them. View them as being a member of a diverse community.

Practice Inclusivity: Offer mobile massage services so LGBTiQA clients may feel valued in their own home. Take proactive steps to ensure all clients are respected and welcomed.

Treat all clients with dignity, empathy and understanding, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
